We are hiring a student worker for the role User Experience Designer.

About Distancify

Founded in 2017, Distancify is an ecommerce consultancy company based in Sweden. We are a small team of 11 people, but together we have many years of experience with ecommerce.

Our goal is to give our clients the best possible end-to-end solutions of the highest possible quality, ranging from warehouse logistics to end-user shopping experience.

We currently have offices in Skövde, Alingsås and Baia Mare - Romania.

About this role

User experience (UX) designers are at the forefront of everything we do. In this role as User Experience Designer you will be working from the early stages of planning through implementation of the solutions for our clients, you will be creating UX mockups in close cooperation with our product owner.

The job as UX Designer are about envisioning how customers are going to use our clients ecommerce site and bring that vision to life, to do this will you will need to think strategically, be creative and negotiate design solutions in relation to business goals. Using your abilities to identify new opportunities and generate innovative ideas, you will influence the design direction and make our client co-operation even better, your tasks will include:

  • Clearly explain the latest UX concepts and understanding to the product owner and clients.
  • In cooperation with the product owner develop a full stack of UX deliverables from personas and storyboards, to information architecture and interactive prototypes.


We imagine that you are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in User Experience Design, graphic design, human-computer interaction, computer science, or related field.

An important part of creating user experiences is about caring (one of our three core values), you should care about people, the ‘why’, your craft and authenticity. You should have a developed empathy so that you are able to put yourself in the customers shoe and understand their emotions and feelings.

The external communication will mainly be in Swedish while the internal communication will mainly be in English, therefore excellent communication skills both written and verbal is a must.

As a UX Designer we expect that you never really feel satisfied and that you have a deep passion for creating the perfect user experience. This also requires you to continue to try new solutions, tools and technologies, and a have a general curiosity for how things work and why they work this way.

It’s a plus if you have experience with design tools like Adobe XD or Balsamiq.

Additionally, it would be fantastic if have experience from the retail business, preferably ecommerce. However, this isn’t a requirement.

What to expect from our hiring process

We don’t want you to feel surprised during hiring process, which is why we describe it below, we strive to get back to you as a candidate as soon as possible and the response times mentioned is worst case scenario:

  • Send your resume or your publicly viewable LinkedIn profile to, along with a paragraph or two about why you’re interested. We’ll send a quick response as soon as possible to let you know we received your message.

  • If we think you might be a good fit we’ll follow up with an informal meeting over a cup of coffee in our Skövde office to see if you are a good cultural match to the office and Distancify in general, the meeting will be around 30 min. We’ll follow up within two business days after the meeting to let you know if we’d like to move forward or not.

  • As it is our goal only to hire the best candidates and create teams of excellency (even for student workers), is it likely we will ask you to perform one or two online tests. If so will we get back to you within two business days after you have performed the test, we will provide you with the results of the tests and let you know if we’d like to move forward or not.

  • The last interview step is an on-site interview, the goal is to finally verify that you are the right fit for this position and most importantly that Distancify is the right fit for you, as Distancify is planning for a long-term cooperation. This interview will most likely be around 1 hour.

  • After the onsite interview will we do internal review session of all candidates, and you should get an answer within five working days.

  • The final step is closing the job contract which includes offer negotiation, which most likely will be done through an online video call.

A few extra things to know

This position is a student job, a job you can have besides your studies, you can in general be flexible with when you put your hours, but of course our clients and most employees are only available within normal office hours. We are aware that you as a student need to have periods (eg exams) where you need to put your full focus on your studies, which we at Distancify fully support.

The salary will be on a negotiated hourly rate.
